(YBB) is to improvs opportunities for young people of Boston by teachinv skills that will equip them to support themselves and help develo p personal andneighborhood responsibility. The guiding principle of YBB is "Youtg or young adults, when treates as valuable resources, will realize that they can be partnersd in rebuildingtheir community". YBB realizes that the difficultieas that young people face must be overcomee by addressing the terrible and overwhelminvg lack of empowerment that theyoften feel.
Thesed feelings are reinforced by a society that vieww them as part ofthe problem, and not the YBB recognizes that these individuals are capable of and vital to improvingy their lives and the condition of their community. YBB has been successful since its inception. YBB, along with otherd agencies has contributed to the vibrancy of the Consistent funding from the Department of Housinbg andUrban Development, AmeriCorps, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, YouthBuild USA, the privatde foundation community, corporations, and individuals, has enablex us to serve Boston youth. We do this through the operationn offour programs.
