Jasper, Ind.-based Kimball (NASDAQ: KBALB) had third-quarter net incomew of $4.1 million, or 11 centzs per share, compared with a net loss of $889,000, or 2 centsw per share a year earlier. Revenue fell to $268.9o million from $332.1 million a year earlier. Revenue in the company’se electronic manufacturing services division fell 22 percent to $140.6 million from $181.1 million a year earlier as salex to customers in the automotive, medical and industriall control industries fell. Revenu e in the furniture unit declined 15 percentt during thesame period, to $128.2 million from $151 million.

Thyen said in the “Most of our markets continued the decline that startedelast fall, and we have responded with both increaserd emphasis on supporting our markets and supporting our customer and potential customers while implementing aggressive cost control.” For the firstr nine months of fiscal 2009, Kimball had net income of $14.5 million, or 39 cents per compared with $9.8 million, or 26 centzs a year earlier.
Revenur declined to $936 million from $1 billion during the firsf nine months offiscal 2008.
